In the Deep End of The Pool

I told Sam (actually I’m telling anyone who will listen, including you) that I feel like I’m in over-my-head at The Pool. So many changes happening all at once feels overwhelming. Perhaps you have been there yourself? When changes happen really fast? Changes that make you rethink where life is headed for you.

When these big changes and opportunities hit all at once, but the daily ins and outs of family life continue as usual, it can feel like being in water over your head. You shout, Help! Help! I’m drowning! while those around you continue to chat about what’s for dinner.

I was one of those kids who never learned to float. (Don’t even bring up walking on water). But I got pretty good at treading water, so here I am, determinedly treading water, and writing an update on The Pool. Before I get into that update, there is a scripture song I used to sing back in the day when we sang scripture songs in church. It’s from Psalm 61. King James Version, of course. I think all the scripture songs we sang were KJV. Here are the lyrics.

When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.

That song has been my prayer these past months. If you are feeling overwhelmed and no one is tossing you a lifeline, grab onto that scripture and let the Lord haul you back to shore.

Here is what’s going on ministry-wise. Vision TV offered me a place on their network. So now I have a show on TV, called The Pool Ministries with Susan Bowman. I did NOT see that coming.

You can download the app Vision Television Network to your device, iPhone, or Android. Or download Vision TV from Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, and Samsung Smart TV. There is a lot of good Christian content there. And you can see me! Look for my show on-demand The Pool Ministries with Susan Bowman.

The next big change is our new website. It is amazing. Shout out to Monica of MK Marketing Services who envisioned and built the site. We are still tweaking it, adding new content. I’m trying to figure out how to blog from it. Monica is helping me with that. So many new skills to learn all at once! Help! Help!

You can donate directly on the website (and avoid PayPal, if you don’t like PayPal). Links to the ministry YouTube channel are there. And links to the Heart books.

The Heart Books are now available in paperback, eBook, and audio. Figuring out how to create audio books was …  let us say, interesting? Challenging? It was difficult. That’s the right word. I might have panicked a little bit. But it got done.

I am teaching The Quiet Heart in person. I haven’t taught in-person in quite a few years. Teaching has been confined to Zoom and that has been great, but there is nothing like in-person teaching where you can hug the people and just be in the physical presence of God’s sons and daughters. There is nothing like it. So glad to report that the class is going well. Those students who have decided to stick it out are digging in. I’m proud of them.

Please download Vision TV and check out my show. And please take a look at the new website: www.thepoolministries.org. Shoot me an email at thepool@thepoolministries.org and let me know what you think! Meanwhile, I’ll be singing, Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I, That is higher than I!

God bless,

Susan
