A Deeper Look from The Pool Ministries – Demons Are Not the Boss of You Series, Part 3
One of the most sobering truths Susan Bowman shares in Part 3 is this:
Demons do not play fair. They exploit access—especially access we unknowingly give them.
Many Christians are not defeated because they lack faith, prayer, or love for God. They are oppressed because they have never been taught how to close spiritual doors—doors opened by belief, trauma, fear, or silent agreement.
Demons are opportunists. If we unknowingly permit them in through belief or expectation, they will take full advantage.
The Enemy Thrives on Permission—Not Power
The demonic realm does not overpower believers. It infiltrates by assuming permission.
- “I deserve this pain.”
- “I knew something bad would happen.”
- “If I confront evil, I’ll face backlash.”
These are not just thoughts. They are agreements. And agreements form invisible doorways.
Demons cannot eliminate your free will—but they will manipulate your beliefs.
Wherever we silently agree with fear, shame, or judgment, we give them grounds to act.
The Subtle Ways We Open the Door
Susan explains that access is often granted not through sin, but through belief.
| Belief We Hold | What the Enemy Hears |
| “I expect backlash for speaking truth.” | Permission to retaliate. |
| “I always mess everything up.” | Permission to attack identity. |
| “I have to suffer when I expose evil.” | Permission to punish. |
Sadly—sometimes beliefs are handed to us through religious teaching.
If we’re taught to expect demonic backlash, we accept it.
Spiritual Realities Misunderstood: Fear vs. Discernment
Do you ever feel fear for no reason? Anxiety with no source?
This is where many go astray.
We assume, “I’m afraid,” instead of asking, “Is something making me feel fear?”
Feeling fear is not faithlessness. It is often discernment.
Evil spirits of fear are felt… so we discern their presence by feeling fear.
When we mislabel discernment as personal emotion, we internalize something that was never ours. That is exactly what the demonic wants.
So Why Don’t They Stop Attacking?
Because we haven’t told them to.
Demons are spiritual trespassers. They do not leave because you are a Christian.
They leave when you exercise dominion.
“What we allow, they exploit.
What we confront, they fear.”
—Susan Bowman
Closing the Door: A Prayer of Renunciation & Boundary
If you suspect you’ve given access through belief, pray this aloud:
“Lord, show me any belief that gave the enemy permission.”
“In Jesus’ name, I break agreement with backlash, punishment, shame, or the inevitability of attack.
Demonic realm, I revoke your access. I forbid your interference.
Angels of God, enforce this boundary. Make it so, in Jesus’ name.”
Take Back the Territory of Your Mind
You are not weak for being attacked. You are called to enforce victory.
- Stop expecting retaliation. Expect dominion.
- Stop accepting fear. Recognize discernment.
- Stop waiting for peace. Speak it. Declare it. Guard it.
Demons are not the boss of you—unless you let them be.
